“Mechanical Design, Manufacture & Automation (International Engineering)” is a program jointly created by USST and Hochschule Furtwangen University (Germany). The discipline combines mechanical engineering knowledge with management knowledge and aims to produce interdisciplinary professionals who have both mechanical manufacturing knowledge and knowledge about quality management and production process management. Most management related courses are taught by German professors in order to enable students to understand advanced German business administration concepts. Graduates are awarded a dual bachelor’s degree in “Mechanical Design, Manufacture & Automation” (from Chinese side) and “International Engineering”  (from German side). The discipline conducts mechanical-electrical-computer themed modern teaching and practice activities by adopting Sino-German teaching methods.
